In Russia the last two years there has been a steady increase in poverty, said Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets at the investment forum “Sochi-2016″.
“unfortunately, in the country after 2014 is steadily growing poverty, and the measures we take, we believe, should be strengthened. First of all, poverty struck the people working, this is a special situation”, — quotes its words of RIA Novosti.
As explained Golodets, the reason for this is that wages are much lower than the real price of labour.
“Today in the Russian market of 4.8 million people working on minimum wage, and 1.8 million people are government employees who work for minimum wage,” — said Golodets. The minimum wage in Russia is 7500 rubles.
the Deputy Prime Minister said that the government plans to increase the minimum wage to a living wage (in the whole country is 9776, for able-bodied population — 10524 ruble), however, there are difficulties in the negotiation process and budget configurations. She promised that the government will do everything possible to work with dignity citizens were paid in all sectors of the economy.
7 September it was reported that in August, the expenses of Russians fell below the level of January 2012.
