Skvortsova confirmed the increase in insurance premiums from salaries to 5.9% – RBC

health Minister Veronika Skvortsova confirmed that the rate of obligatory medical insurance (OMS) from the wages of the working population will increase from 5.1% to 5.9%, the correspondent of RBC with an expanded session of the state Duma Committee on health protection, which involved the head of Department.

According to Skvortsova, the tariff increase will allow to balance the budget of the compulsory health insurance Fund (HIF) “not only to 2019, but for the entire period of the election cycle up to 2025″. The health Minister also added that next year the government will prepare several subjects of the Russian Federation to indexation of insurance contributions for the unemployed.

Skvortsova said that the Ministry of health was able to maintain HIF 91,2 billion roubles, which had to go to the Federal budget. “We were able to prove the need for an increase in mandatory medical insurance Fund by 10%. This is a very significant increase from what the Fund is 1 trillion 800 billion rubles. It is 57% of the total health,” the Minister explained.

Previously, the increase in insurance premiums for the working population reported by the newspaper “Vedomosti” with reference to the four Federal officials. According to the publication, the increased contribution is necessary to balance the budget of the HIF. To increase salaries of health workers to perform the may decrees should be about 0,5 trillion roubles for three years.

the Interlocutors of the edition noted that the Commission on legislative activities discussed raising the rate to 6%, however, at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, the decision was made 5,9%.

According to two variants of the forecast of Ministry of economic development, increasing the contribution of HIF in 2019, will bring an additional 182 billion to 190 billion rubles.
