Controlled by the opposition, the national Assembly of Venezuela approved the initiation of the impeachment process of President Nicolas Maduro, reports Reuters.

Opponents of Maduro won the parliamentary elections in December 2015 and is in the Assembly two-thirds majority.

On Wednesday, June 26, the opposition has planned a large-scale protest. This day was supposed to start another round of collection of signatures in support of the referendum to dismiss the President.
