Today the head of state spoke at the regional forum of the popular front in the Crimea, where he touched on a number of important issues of the Peninsula. The main topics of discussion of the first day were the issues of energy and gas, agribusiness development and other promising areas of the economy.

Speaking about the construction of the Kerch bridge, Putin said he expects to deadlines and quality work of the builders.

Putin added that the bridge will carry 14 million travelers and 13 million vehicles a year.

In the implementation of this and other projects, according to the President, “the important role played by the involved attitude of the residents of Crimea and Sevastopol, their energy, commitment to results”.

Commenting on the shutdown of the Peninsula from the power supply from Ukraine, Putin called it a “crime”, and its organizers — “awesome idiots”.

“Take a large region, where several million people live… (and) disconnected from the electricity supply in the winter… we Have human rights organizations that clams, cat got your tongue silent. And in fact, is a serious crime…” — added the President.

He noted the courage of the inhabitants of the Crimea who found themselves in these circumstances.

“But for those who did, this is so stupid. What did they expect? I just don’t understand, all will kneel and ask for handouts? It is simply surprising. Amazing idiots,” — said Putin.

Crimea was completely disconnected in November 2015 due to the undermining power lines coming from Ukraine. The responsibility for the blockade was taken by the leaders of the organization “the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people” and the extremist organization “Right sector” (banned in Russia) and soldiers of the battalion “Azov”.
