The Kremlin has commented on reports about the deportation of Russians from Serbia – RBC

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov has commented on reports that several Russians were deported from Serbia after they were suspected of involvement in the preparation of terrorist attacks after the parliamentary elections in Montenegro. On Friday he said “Kommersant”, linking the recent visit of the head of the Russian security Council Nikolai Patrushev in Belgrade with this scandal.

Elections in Montenegro were held on October 16. At the same time, the authorities announced the detention of citizens of Serbia who were going to attack opposition protests in order to provoke Parliament storm. According to “Kommersant”, one of the purpose of the trip Patrushev in Serbia was mitigating the situation to prevent a scandal in the Russian-Serbian relations.

Commenting on this information, Peskov said that Patrushev “is in the process enough active interaction and dialogue with their foreign colleagues.” “You know that it is actively communicating with counterpart from different countries. Given the special nature of our relations with Serbia, it is quite normal that there are such exchanges of visits. During such visits, mainly discussed bilateral relations and the situation in the region”, — concluded the representative of the Kremlin.

Earlier reports about the deportation of Russians at the Russian Embassy in Belgrade. There they called speculation. “Official notification from the Serbian side the Embassy has been received,” — said the press attache of Embassy Yury Pichugin.
