From October 21, the Central Bank has appointed the Bank “Peresvet” interim administration to study the financial position of the Bank. Temporary administration was imposed in connection with satisfaction of claims of creditors on monetary obligations in the terms exceeding seven days since the date of their satisfaction, stated in the message controller. Three days earlier it was reported that “Peresvet” has restricted the issuance of deposits to customers.

At the same time the representative of the Bank assured that the credit institution has no problems with liquidity and the increased demand for cash withdrawals he was associated with the appearance before the media reports about the disappearance of the Chairman of the Board of Bank Alexander Shvets. The Bank explained later that Sweden is in Moscow and is undergoing treatment and therefore temporarily unable to perform the functions of the Chairman of the Board of the Bank. The Bank then claimed that the absence of the Chairman of the Board of the Bank for valid reasons is not a cause for concern.

Yesterday a source “Interfax” close to shareholders of the Bank, said that “Peresvet” kept about a third of all funds of the administration of the Russian Orthodox Church, including the main account of the Moscow Patriarchate. What is the fate of stored funds if they were withdrawn, the source Agency did not elaborate.
