TOKYO, 11 Feb. /Offset. TASS Igor Belyaev/. The head of the largest Japanese automotive concern Toyota Motor Akio Toyoda expressed his hope for further development of economic relations between Japan and the United States. This was reported by the Agency Kyodo.

“We as representatives of the industrial world are encouraged,” – said the head of the company, commenting on the agreement on the expansion of free trade and investment agreement following the meeting on Friday at the White house, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and U.S. President Donald trump.

Abe and trump, in particular, decided to create a new structure for dialogue on the development of bilateral economic ties. At a joint press conference Abe said that the parties will establish a new framework for dialogue “to further deepen bilateral economic relations”. The new structure will work under the direction of the Vice President of the United States Michael Pence and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of Japan Taro ASO.

Earlier, Toyota was criticized by trump’s plans to build a new plant in Mexico. The US President urged the Japanese automaker to abandon these plans or to prepare for the duties. Just a few days after that, Toyota announced its intention to invest in the US economy $ 10 billion over the next five years. Officially, however, Toyota emphasized that the decision was not linked to criticism from the American President.
