MOSCOW, February 9 — RIA Novosti/Prime. the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) of Russia expects the growth of prices on cellular communication in Russia after the cancellation of domestic roaming, said RIA Novosti Deputy head of the FAS Anatoly Golomolzin.
According to him, the Ministry expects the abolition of intranet roaming in Russia in the second quarter of 2017. Roaming rates in the Crimea will be reduced to Russian in the late first or early second quarter of 2017. In the third quarter, the FAS expects the abolition of national roaming in the whole territory of the Russian Federation.
“We fear not see, because in this case we are talking about the fact that the reduction of tariffs for communications services in roaming kompensiruet possible increase of traffic volume of services. In this case also benefit operators and subscribers. This is a situation which is characteristic of a competitive market, when such actions benefit all”, — said Golomolzin, answering the question whether the abolition of roaming charges in Russia to growth of prices on cellular communication in the country.
In Russia there are several types of roaming: national, on-net and separately in the Crimea. Intranet roaming is valid within a particular network throughout the country differs by region. National roaming is valid when the network provider is not in any region.

Later, Golomolzin said that the Agency will soon develop a “road map” for the abolition of intranet roaming in Russia. “VimpelCom” (brand “Beeline”) has announced that it is considering the abolition of roaming charges within Russia in the future.
