Rosselkhoznadzor banned the supply of poultry meat and eggs from some EU countries – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, 4 Feb — RIA Novosti. the Rosselkhoznadzor plans to ban shipments of poultry and hatching eggs from Europe, where identified avian influenza, told RIA Novosti press-Secretary of Department Yulia Melano.

“we don’t Have exact dates yet, but we are considering the introduction of a ban in the next two weeks. It is primarily countries where outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza, in order to protect Russia,” — said in a few words.

Earlier, Russia suspended the import of live poultry, eggs and products containing poultry meat from Poland and parts of Germany. This was due to the avian influenza epidemic.

the Area of distribution of the disease in the EU in recent years expanded dramatically, cases of highly pathogenic flu have been registered in 22 countries. For example, in Germany it is marked in 15 of the 16 Federal States, said in a statement on the Agency’s website.
