the defense Ministry confirmed the reports about sending Syria anti-aircraft missile system. Earlier that the Russian group have strengthened defense system, reported American Fox News. The Kremlin was advised to apply for review to the military

Russia has delivered to Syria a battery of anti-aircraft missile system (ZRS) C-300, said the official representative of Russian defense Ministry major General Igor Konashenkov.

He explained that this system is designed to ensure the security of its naval base in Syrian Tartus and “located in the coastal area of the ships of the operative connection of the Russian Navy from the air” (quoted by “RIA Novosti”).

Konashenkov said it was unclear why the location of air defense missile systems in Syria is causing a stir in the West. “Let me remind you that the s-300 is a purely defensive system and no one poses no threat,” — said the official representative of the Ministry of defense.

He also reminded that earlier this region was a complex “Fort”, which, according to Konashenkov, a similar s-300 system. They are now also equipped with guided-missile cruiser of the black sea fleet “Moscow”, Konashenkov said.

Informed the American TV channel Fox News, citing sources in the US administration reported that Russia has supplied Syria with air defense s-300V4 “Antey-2500″. The TV station argued that the system components arrived at the Russian naval base in Tartus last weekend. The source Fox News called it the first case of deployment of air defense systems s-300V4 outside Russia.

the interlocutor of the channel also claimed that the system “Antey-2500″ has the potential to confront us cruise missiles in Syria. According to sources, Fox News, the militants “Jabhat Fatah al-sham” (the former name of “Dzhabhat EN Nusra”) and the “Islamic state” (both groups are recognized in Russia as a terrorist and banned) no cruise missiles, no aircraft.

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on these reports, advised to consult the Ministry of defence.

“This is a question that should be addressed to our military Ministry. In such cases, to refer to some ephemeral sources believe is incorrect,” — said Peskov.

Russia in the end of November 2015 is already deployed in Syria anti-aircraft missile system s-400. This happened after Turkish air force shot down a Russian su-24 bomber. Fox News said that after the advent of this system the us military have become more cautious when flying in the area where it operates.

the Plot of the TV channel came some time later, after the U.S. State Department announced the termination of bilateral relations with Russia on Syria. Cooperation was carried out on the basis of an agreement between Moscow and Washington on 9 September. It included coordinating efforts to combat terrorists Russian aerospace forces and the international coalition led by the United States. The parties also had to ensure the observance of the cease-fire.

Russia launched a military operation in Syria on 30 September 2015 at the request of President Bashar al-Assad. Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, summarizing the results of operations for the year, said chief among them is the lack of terrorists in Damascus.

on March 14, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin ordered to withdraw the bulk of Russian forces from Syria. However, despite this, Syria still remains a part of the contingent. In mid-March Putin speaking at the Kremlin, said that the s-400 and “Shell” will remain in Syria. He argues that all stakeholders know about it.
