Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Wednesday, October 5, announced his intention to soon meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports RIA Novosti.
“Very soon I will meet with President Vladimir Putin, to specify agreement in all areas — military, financial, economic, agricultural, trade,” said Maduro at a meeting with the producers of Portuguesa state.
According to the Venezuelan President, the meeting may be made, among others, statements regarding the recent informal meeting of OPEC in Algeria on stabilizing the oil market and control prices.
on September 28 countries-members of OPEC reached in the Algiers agreement to limit oil production at the level of 32.5 million barrels. It is expected that after reaching this goal, the cartel will turn to other countries-exporters of oil with the offer to join the agreement. The final proposal in November will present a specially created coordinating Committee.
the day before the meeting, on 27 September, Minister of energy of Venezuela, Eulochio del Pino warned about a possible fall in oil prices below $ 20 per barrel if the representatives of the oil producing countries will fail to agree on joint actions on the market.
