Kazakhstan offers RF supply gas to China through its territory, using the existing gas pipeline Bukhara-Ural and Bozoi-Shymkent. Source “Kommersant” in “Gazprom” has regarded the idea of Astana as not too attractive, noting that the company has no plans to give up gas pipeline “Altai” and “The Power of Siberia”, which directly link Russia and China. Thus the delivery will not depend on political and other conditions in the transit countries.
The projected supply routes of delivery of natural gas from Russia to China, see the infographic AiF.ru.
It is planned that the length gazpoprovoda be 2,600 km, of which:
- 206 km will pass through the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District ;
- 338 km will be held at Khanty-Mansiysk;
- 821 km will be held at the Tomsk region;
- 241 km will be held in Novosibirsk, and the last 1,000 miles – the Altai Territory and the Altai Republic.
«The Power of Siberia»
Pipeline “The Power of Siberia” will pass through Khabarovsk and will combine production centers in the Irkutsk region and Yakutia. The end point of the route will be Vladivostok.
The cost of construction of the gas pipeline “The Power of Siberia” and the organization of supplies from Chayandinskoye field are estimated at approximately $ 30 billion.
The length of the tube will be about four thousand miles. Estimated pipe diameter – 1,420 mm.
«Altai»
The pipeline will pass between the gas fields in Western Siberia and Xinjiang in western China. There he can connect with the Chinese pipeline “East-West”, through which gas will reach Shanghai.
The planned length of the pipeline – about 6,700 km, of which 2,600 km have to pass through the territory of Russia. Estimated pipe diameter – 1,420 mm.
What agreed to “Gazprom” and the state oil and gas company in China CNPC?
May 21, 2014 the Russian gas giant “Gazprom” and the state oil company CNPC of China signed a contract for the sale of natural gas for delivery on the eastern route.
The contract provides for delivery to China 38 billion cubic meters of gas per year (after 2018 may increase exports to 60 billion cubic meters. For comparison, the EU purchased from RF about 125 billion cubic meters of gas, according to the data for the previous year).
The agreement is 30 years, and the contract is worth $ 400 billion, the chairman of “Gazprom” Alexey Miller. He did not call the base price of the gas contract, citing trade secrets. But experts estimate the gas market, that it is in the range of $ 360-390 per 1,000 cubic meters. For comparison, in Europe, “Gazprom” let fuel at an average price of $ 370-380 per 1,000 cubic meters.
On the project of gas supplies to China, Russia will need an investment of 55 billion dollars (China – 22 billion dollars), which will focus on field development and construction of the pipeline.
According to the Energy Minister Alexander Novak, fuel supplies to China will begin in 4-6 years.
