Light bulb with adjustable power will contain the LED in the form of wire covered by graphene, reports BBC Russian Service.
The lamp is designed at Manchester University, where in 2004 opened two graphene physics of Russian origin – Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov.
For this discovery in 2010 Novoselov and Geim were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics. In 2011, the Queen of Great Britain also complained of knighthood.
Thanks to the conductive properties of graphene new light, according to the creators, will last longer and consume 10% less power.

It is expected that it will cost some cheaper than existing LED lamps, the price of which in Britain up to 15 pounds (22.3 dollars).
The bulb was developed by the means of Graphene Lighting Canadian investors. One of the directors of the company is the vice-rector of the University of Manchester Professor Colin Bailey.
“The cost of production [Lamp] below, and it uses more environmentally friendly materials,” – said Bailey in an interview with BBC BBC.
The UK government has invested 38 million pounds in the National Institute of graphene, open March 20 at the University of Manchester.
Finance Minister George Osborne said Britain seeks to retain global leadership in the development of graphene technologies in a serious competition from China and South Korea.
The developers are trying to find other uses graphene, such as a stronger body of cars and planes, and dentures. This material is already used in the manufacture of sports goods like skis and tennis rackets.
Earlier, UNIAN reported that scientists with magnets invented a new way to manage heat.
