MOSCOW, March 25 – RIA Novosti. The Russian delegation to the WTO is considered the continuation of negotiations in the most constructive solution to the dispute with the European Union, but we are ready to defend themselves in case of disputes arising consideration by the panel.

Earlier on Wednesday, at the end of the next meeting of the Dispute Settlement Body of the WTO has been decided to set up a panel in a dispute against Russia in relation to tariffs for certain agricultural and industrial products.

“In the opinion of the Russian side, the continuation of the negotiation process is the most constructive way to reach mutually acceptable solutions in this situation. However, in the case of the transition to the stage of the dispute by the panel set up to defend the interests of the Russian Federation, taking advantage of all the tools available in the right WTO “, – says the statement of the Russian delegation.

EU in late October turned into the WTO proceedings against the Russian Federation on the issue of tariffs on agricultural and industrial products, accusing it of charging higher tariffs on a number of headings, than envisaged organization. In particular, we are talking about the paper, cardboard, palm oil and its fractions, refrigerators and freezers.

After four months, the EU requested a WTO panel of arbitrators and the convening of the transfer case of “excessive” import duties on their decision . March 10 Russia rejected the first request of the EU such a panel.
