According to the Director of corporate relations “BAT Russia”, taking into account the proposal made by the Ministry of Finance, the minimum excise duty on cigarettes in the next year will grow by 26% to 2123 1680 rubles per thousand cigarettes. Thus, the minimum excise tax for a pack will cost 42.5 38.6 billion ruble instead of the current.
Besides, according to experts, the increased cost of a pack of cigarettes will exceed the increase in the cost of the excise tax due to the rising costs of producers for the purchase of tobacco, transport and other expenses. Eventually a pack of cigarettes for 120 roubles will cost the smoker at 140 next year.
