MOSCOW, October 9 — RIA Novosti. Russia and Turkey have resumed negotiations about a discount on gas, possible pre-trial settlement of this question between “Gazprom export” and the Turkish BOTAŞ, said the head of the energy Ministry of Russia Alexander Novak in interview to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.

“the Issue of gas prices is associated with the content of trade agreements between economic entities of our countries. The issue of discounts, which You say was discussed in the beginning of 2015. Now negotiations on the price of gas is resumed, I hope the parties come to a common position,” said Novak.

According to him, the Turkish company BOTAŞ made a question about the price of gas to the International court of arbitration. The first hearing on this case will take place in 2017. “It is possible that up to this point, the Russian “Gazprom Export” and the Turkish BOTAŞ will be able to resolve the dispute relating to the price of gas” — said Novak.

However, he stressed that “Gazprom Export” sells gas BOTAŞ, but also by private Turkish suppliers, which makes the issue of pricing is quite complex. “So we need to find a way out, considering all factors, using a holistic approach,” concluded the Minister.

In an interview, he also confirmed that the Ministry of energy expects to sign an intergovernmental agreement on “Turkish stream” at the world energy Congress, which will be held in Turkey from 10 to 13 October, as he reported earlier to journalists on September 30.

Novak also added that trade relations with Turkey, particularly in the energy sector should gradually return to normal after a temporary cooling of relations. “In the first seven months (2016 — ed.) the volume of deliveries of oil from Russia increased by 27% and exceeded one million tons,” — said Novak.
