Poroshenko: This is the first summit where Ukraine asked the EU, and not Vice versa – GORDONUA.COM

Last Brussels summit of the EU – Ukraine became the first where Ukraine asked the EU to questions on the implementation of commitments, not Vice versa. This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a joint press conference with President of the European Council Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Brussels, the correspondent of the publication “GORDON”.

“Ukraine till November 24, has fulfilled all commitments Bezvadu. Typically difficult questions were asked of Ukraine regarding the implementation of commitments. I stress that at the summit Ukraine did not ask a single question, the country is clearly and fully met all its obligations. And this is the first summit, when Ukraine put questions, and we, the Ukrainian delegation, ask questions to our partners from the European Union with a request to timely perform its obligations“, – Poroshenko noted.

According to the Ukrainian President, he was “happy to hear the forecast Tusk”, that inter-institutional consultations between the EU Council and the European Parliament on the suspension mechanism, if necessary, a visa-free regime should be completed before the end of 2016. Poroshenko added that the differences that now exist between the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, purely stylistic.

“And the decision will be made immediately after resolving these stylistic differences. The 45-million Ukrainian people have made huge reforms, implemented all 144 items of the plan of visa liberalization” – summed Poroshenko.

October 23 this year, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that documents on granting Ukraine a visa-free regime will be signed and ratified by the European Parliament before 24 November – the day of the summit Ukraine – EU, but this has not happened.
