Russia will support OPEC’s position on measures to stabilize the oil market if the cartel countries reach a consensus within the organization, said Russian energy Minister Alexander Novak

the Head of Ministry Alexander Novak said that Russia would support OPEC’s position in the measures to stabilize the oil market if the cartel countries reached a common consensus within the organization, from the information received by RBC.

“We agree with the position that OPEC should reach consensus within your organization before an agreement will be able to join the countries outside of OPEC,” the Minister said.

He added that Russia keeps a positive attitude concerning the agreement and continues to participate in consultations with partners.

Earlier on Saturday, 26 November, the Agency “RIA Novosti”, citing a diplomatic source said that Russian experts will take part in the consultations of the OPEC with the countries outside the cartel, which was to be held on 28 November in Vienna.

30 November in Vienna the countries-exporters will have to finalize the terms of the reduction of oil production that were previously adopted in Algeria.
