The dollar and the euro in the New Year holidays, a fresh exchange rate for today

The Central Bank of Russia has determined exchange rates at the time of the Christmas holidays. The dollar today is estimated at 56 rubles 24 kopecks, euro – 68 rubles 37 kopecks. At these elevations values fixed rate until January 11. The past year was marked by a rapid decline in the ruble positions: they fell by 41% against the dollar and 34% – to the euro.

Record fluctuations occurred on December 16: the US currency was worth the maximum of 80.1 rubles to the dollar and the euro – 100.74 ruble. The reasons for the weakening of the ruble experts called sharply higher oil prices and tensions between Russia and the Western countries that emerged after the Ukrainian crisis. The ruble has now won back position. However, analysts strongly doubt that it will return to their previous values, existing prior to the sharp fluctuations. If the ruble and the price will rise, but not by much.

The process depends on the cost of petroleum products, bu t significant trend towards an increase yet. Economists say the first few months of the year will be much pressure on the ruble caused by the payment of external debt, but it is offset by significant ruble rates and a shortage of ruble liquidity.
