First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov advised Russians to prepare for an increase in unemployment. “For many, the current situation is not seen as a shock, but this is a wrong understanding of the situation … We must prepare for the fact that people will go to market as the unemployed, and they need to adapt to new conditions,” – Shuvalov said at the Davos forum.
First Deputy Prime Minister believes that the current situation in the economy due to the fact that Russia has forgotten the lessons of the crisis of 2008-2009. At the same time, he predicted, things can get worse.
According to the latest data from Rosstat, the unemployment rate in Russia is 5.2 per cent of the economically active population, or 3.9 million people.
