Kazakhstan introduced a ban on imports of cattle from Russia due to the outbreak of anthrax – Rosbalt.RU


 Kazakhstan imposed restrictions on the supply of cattle from Russia due to the outbreak of anthrax in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District (YaNAO). This is stated in a statement posted on August 4 website of the Ministry of Agriculture of the republic.

 The ban, valid from Wednesday, August 3, concerns of farm and wild animals, genetic material, horns, hooves and skins.

 Also imposes restrictions on the import and transit of cattle and other animals susceptible to nodular dermatitis. Such measures decided to apply for the registration of disease foci in the Astrakhan region, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, Kalmykia, Ingushetia and Dagestan.

 Russia has imposed a temporary ban on imports of cattle from Kazakhstan more 22 July.

 In YaNAO presence of anthrax confirmed in 23 of the 90 people who were hospitalized in the district hospital of Salekhard. Among brought to the health facility – about 50 children. One of the cases, 12-year-old boy died.

 July 25 at the Yamal area has been quarantined after a mass mortality of deer from anthrax. Previous visits outbreak of the disease was recorded in the Yamalo-Nenets District in 1941.
