“Naftogaz” requires “Gazprom” more than 14 billion dollars – Arguments and Facts

«Gazprom» said the amount of the requirements of “Naftogaz Ukraine” at the suit of the contracts for the supply of natural gas from Russia and transit of fuel through the territory of the republic . It was 14.23 billion dollars, according to the company’s IFRS reporting.

The case is considered in the arbitration court in Stockholm. “Naftogaz” requires “Gazprom” retroactive price changes, overpayment refunds and cancellation of the contract item prohibiting the resale of gas. Russian company representatives reported that the oral hearing will be held in the autumn, in September and October, and the decision will be made until the end of March next year.

The process lasts from 2014. Then the “Gazprom” has addressed with a claim to the claims “Naftogaz” because of unpaid gas. The sum amounted to more than 31.5 billion dollars. In turn, “Naftogaz” has already reported that the demands from the Russian holding 26.6 billion US dollars.
