In Britain, suspect corruption in deals in the sale of Airbus aircraft – RBC

The British Office for Serious Fraud (Serious Fraud Office) start a formal investigation on suspicion of fraud, bribery and corruption against the company Airbus Group outside consultants. This, according to Bloomberg, the company said in a statement.

The report specifies. that the company is cooperating with investigators.

Earlier, Airbus has notified the British and European authorities about the found “distortions and shortcomings” in some applications for export financing, which passed through the third-party contractors.

The discrepancies were found four months ago during an internal investigation by the company. After that, the British authorities have suspended a number of loan programs used by Airbus to assist in the sale of civilian aircraft.
