MOSCOW, January 6. /TASS/. English multi-brand clothing store Asos has suspended delivery of goods to Russia. This is stated on the website store.
“We are sorry, but we were forced to make a difficult decision to disable the ability of Express delivery. It happened because our system is now updated. Once we iron out all the technical issues, we will immediately re-enable this option” – according to Asos, and proposes to use standard shipping.
Previously TASS reported that the Chinese online retailer AliExpress has temporarily suspended delivery of goods to Russia through the Russian logistics company SPSR, due to problems with customs clearance at the border. As stated in the letter AliExpress, which got the sellers selling through this online platform (available at the disposal of TASS), due to a failure in the clearance of commercial shipments by the Federal customs service (FCS) of Russia at the present time it is impossible to perform appropriately procedures for customs clearance of shipments in Russia.
“Starting today, the platform is temporarily not providing services to commercial Express delivery, suspend the option of sending (goods) “Russian-Chinese delivery – SPSR” and “AliExpress shipping no worries – first” in the Russian direction to restore operation of the system of commercial shipments of the FCS of Russia”, – said in the letter.
According to the General Director, SPSR Express, Vladimir Solodkin, the problem affected all Express operators participating in the FCS experiment on electronic Declaration of foreign shipments.
“Talking about the suspension from the FCS is incorrect. Since January 2, the FCS began to request copies of passport data of recipients on paper in greater volume than before,” said Solodkin TASS, commenting on the reasons for the delay of parcels with goods at the border. According to him, operators of the contact center SPSR Express individually call up the addressees of parcels for copies of their data on paper and subsequent submission to the TCF.
the head of the Department for international development of the Pony Express Vyacheslav Sarkisov also told TASS that as of 1 January 2017, the FCS has been introduced an additional control measure. “Now for the customs clearance of each parcel coming from any overseas online store, the customs representative (Express carrier) is obliged to provide customs with a copy of the passport of the recipient,” said he.
however, as reported TASS the representative of “Mail of Russia” delivery of postal items “Mail of Russia” (including Express mail EMS) is unchanged. That any new requirements from the FCS is not stated in DHL Express. “Any new requirements of the law does not appear, the customs in the framework of existing requirements may strengthen control. Another issue is whether a company is ready to provide the necessary data on paper,” – said in an interview with TASS Vice-President of operations, DHL Express Yuri Shevchenko.
According to him, the company is making is “initially quite harshly,” so the additional requests of customs bodies on the activities will not be affected.
