Dvorkovich told how Belarus owes for gas – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, January 28 — RIA Novosti. Debt of Belarus for Russian gas, according to the calculations of the Russian government, now stands at 550 million dollars, told reporters Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich.

Vice Prime Minister also noted that negotiations with Belarus on resolving the gas dispute continues but progress yet. While Russia is in any case insisted on full payment for the year 2016 according to the original formula, he said.

Oil and gas dispute between Russia and Belarus lasts from the beginning of 2016, when Minsk said about the unfairness of prices for Russian gas and unilaterally began to pay less for it. Moscow, in turn, announced the reduction of duty-free oil supplies to Belarus, linking it with both the underpayment for gas and short supply of petroleum products to Russia. In October of hand, without going into detail, announced about achieving compromise. However, the dispute remains open until now.

At the end of the year, it added another nuance — Minsk announced an increase from 2017 tariffs for transportation of Russian oil, which Moscow considered excessive.
