President Petro Poroshenko has once again promised to give up their “Russian asset” – Lipetsk confectionery factory. The Corporation “Roshen” on Friday said that a decision on the closure of the factory in Russia.

“Roshen Corporation is stopping the production activity of the Lipetsk confectionery factory. This decision was made for economic and political reasons. Full stop production and conservation of industrial and infrastructure projects planned for April 2017″, — stated in the message of the press service.

I Must say that since 2013, production at the Lipetsk factory fell three times. Nevertheless, a confectionery company to this day continues its work. The factory conducted several staff reductions, but at this moment it is working at least 700 people. According to the Director of the Lipetsk confectionery factory Oleg Kazakov, in the event of a closure they will all be unemployed. They, of course, will be paid severance pay. But how long they will last?

In the case of a change of owner the staff of the enterprise could survive. But at the head office of Corporation “Roshen” in Kiev claim that the factory is not possible due to the seizure of property of the enterprise imposed by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the framework of the criminal case.

Recall that the IC of Russia in 2015 has opened a criminal case against “Roshen” under article “swindle in especially large size”. According to investigators, the Corporation stole 180 million rubles through the illegal refund of VAT. The prosecution argued that the cost of reconstruction of the enterprise for which the Corporation received compensation from the Russian budget were overstated. Meanwhile, in July last year, the Lipetsk factory paid 181 million rubles, the theft of which she was accused, after redressing the alleged damage caused to the state. This was considered by the Moscow city court. The court found that the tax service of the factory the debt is gone. However, there is a fine of 49 million rubles, which “Roshen” is not yet paid. So the property of the factory left under arrest.

However, all that time, what was going on trial, despite the arrest of the factory continued to operate. And generate income for their owners. As mentioned on the website of the holding company for 2014-2016 “Roshen” brought to Ukraine, $ 72 million of dividends from the operation of the factory in Lipetsk.

So to say that the enterprise is economically unprofitable is wrong. The issue of closure of factory is more political than economic. According to opponents of Poroshenko, all of these funds are almost “maintenance of aggression in the Donbas.” So Poroshenko has openly accused that he works for Russia.
