In December the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine decreased by 19% – Komsomolskaya Pravda

the Ukrainian company “Naftogaz” declared that from 22 December, the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine decreased by 19% due to the increase of deliveries via the Nord stream to the German gas pipeline Opal.

As noted, citing data from the European network of gas transmission system operators (ENTSOG), “Gazprom” increased its volumes of gas transit through “Nord stream”.

“Almost all of the additional volumes passed through the Opal pipeline. The volume of transit through Ukraine during this time decreased significantly, and the daily total volume of gas deliveries to Europe the two routes is not actually changed,” — said in the message “Naftogaz“.

According to the company, it “questioned” the assertion that the expansion of the access of Gazprom to Opal will not lead to a decrease in the volume of transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, reports RIA Novosti.
