“air Traffic between Russia and Tajikistan suspended from 00 hours December 22,” — quoted the Agency’s press service.

S7 Airlines, reported by TASS, received a telegram of the Russian aviation authorities to ban flights to Tajikistan. “We received a notification of tax authorities ban flights to Tajikistan from 00 hours 22 December,” — said TASS in the press service of the S7.

on Wednesday Afternoon, 21 December, the Agency RIA Novosti, citing the Ministry of transport said that “the Russian side reserves the right to stop air traffic between the two countries, if the Tajik side will not follow the commitments”. Later the press-Secretary of Ministry of transport Timur Hikmatov said that the talks are ongoing and the decision to suspend flights is not accepted.

the Dispute between Russia and Tajikistan on the implementation of the flights lasts from Nov. The cause of the conflict is the refusal Dushanbe to agree on the Russian airlines flying from Zhukovsky.

According to the authorities of Tajikistan, the work of the new airport near Moscow will lead to a unilateral increase in Russia the number of carriers and frequency of flights between Moscow, Dushanbe and Khujand. The Ministry of transport explained that under the agreement the Russian Federation there are two areas in which there are restrictions: it is Moscow — Dushanbe, 14 flights per week for each of the parties, as well as Moscow — Kurgan-tube, 7 flights per week for each party. In these areas, according to the Ministry of transport, we can speak about the conventional “par”, in other directions no restrictions on the number of appointed carriers and flight frequencies.

the Ministry of transport considered that the Tajik side was in direct violation of the intergovernmental agreement on air communication. While the Ministry emphasized that the main passengers on these routes — Tajik labor migrants, providing by the Russian Federation to 48% of Tajikistan’s GDP.
