The Government to extend the rules of sanctions the destruction of products to the end of 2017. In June, the Russian authorities have extended until that date food embargo

Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev extended the rules of the sanctions the destruction of products to the end of 2017. The relevant government decree was published Friday on the official web portal of legal information.

The term of the sanctions the destruction of products extended from 5 August 2016 to 31 December 2017. This is due to the fact that in June, Russian authorities have extended the food embargo until the end of 2017.

destruction rules apply agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs from the United States, European Union countries, Australia, Albania, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway , Ukraine and Montenegro. For these countries, it operates food embargo imposed by Moscow as a response to Western sanctions.

The embargo since August 7, 2014 applies to the US, EU, Australia, Norway and Canada. In 2015, it was extended until 5 August 2016. The list of countries from which banned the importation of products includes Albania, Montenegro, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

On January 1, the embargo also applies to Ukraine.
