Deliveries of Russian gas through Slovakia decreased – Lenta.ru

The operator of the Slovak gas transmission system (GTS) Eustream September 12 began to reduce gas transit through the country, ITAR-TASS news agency, referring to the company’s data. If a month ago through a compressor station Welke-Kapushany held more than 70 million cubic meters per day, as of September 15 volumes totaled 49.6 million cubic meters.

The operator also noted that the reduction in transit was due to the decline in demand from the Austrian underground gas storage (UGS). Now Austrian warehouse filled almost to capacity.

Previously known as Slovakia among the countries that supply gas to Ukraine at the reverse pattern. Since early September, Ukraine imported from Slovakia on the reverse of 380.9 million cubic meters of gas.

Due to the inverse (reverse) of Russian gas supplies from a number of European countries, Ukraine is trying to compensate for the lack of fuel. With its deficit country faced after June “Gazprom” has limited gas supplies to Ukraine in connection with failure to repay debts for Kiev already supplied fuel.

In September, “Gazprom”, according to the representatives of companies in Eastern Europe , limited gas supply in some countries to acceptable contract lows. Russian gas monopoly denies this information, but in a number of media reports that “Gazprom” is trying to prevent the reverse of natural gas to Ukraine.

In turn, the Russian side, including President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly called in the reverse supply mode “virtual”, having in mind that gas is simply not reaching the respective countries, staying in Ukraine.
