The Russian government intends to restrict the importation of alcohol from the vehicle 5-liters – External Economic Relations

The Russian government plans to limit the amount imported from Belarus and Kazakhstan alcohol.

According to Finance Minister Anton Siluanova, the need to reduce the turnover of alcoholic beverages within the Customs Union overdue in view of the fact that in these countries the excise duty on these products is lower than in Russia. And if the excise tax in Belarus is about the same as in Russia, Kazakhstan, this tax is much lower. For this reason, the border with Kazakhstan in the sale is a lot of alcohol with a revenue stamp of Kazakhstan, but not Russian excise stamps, according to September 20 ITAR-TASS.

In this regard, the Government of the Russian Federation held a meeting in during which the ministers agreed to impose restrictions on imports from the countries of the Customs Union of alcoholic beverages. It is planned to adopt the relevant legal act authorizing the importation of alcohol from the vehicle up to 5 liters. Notes that will be taken to tighten control over the sale of products in retail trade without excise stamps.
