For the first nine months of 2016, the specialists of Rospotrebnadzor has removed from sale almost 17 tons of confectionery. As reported on the Agency’s website, the reason was failure to meet regulatory requirements.
during this period, the test was more than 12 thousand legal entities and individual entrepreneurs engaged in the production and trafficking of sweets. Studied were more than 62 thousand samples of confectionery products.
the proportion of samples that do not meet the standards on microbiological indicators (the content of mould, yeast, pathogens, etc.), for the nine months was 5.4 per cent. The Department explained that this figure is not beyond the “mean annual values”.
the CPS said that in recent years the consumption of sugar per citizen of the country is about 40 kilograms per year, whereas, according to the recommendations for rational norms of food consumption, about 24 kilograms.
“This figure cannot be considered positive, as excess consumption of fat and sugar among the population increases the risk of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular and other diseases,” — said the Agency.
