MOSCOW, February 12 – RIA Novosti “Gazprom” plans to sell gas to Ukraine for at least another three years, Bloomberg reported, citing the private budget of the company, adopted in December

..

“Gazprom” intends to export to Ukraine from 8.8 to 14.1 billion cubic meters of gas per year by 2018, according to the publication. The budget includes several export scenarios. In one of them designated by the average price for gas in Europe, that is 15 percent lower than that specified in the contract with the Ukrainian company “Naftogaz”.

Representatives of “Gazprom” and “Naftogaz” so far not commented on this information, Bloomberg notes.

“Ukraine has come a long way to reducing its dependence on Russian gas imports, a very long way, but it is still not completely independent of Russia” – leads edition of the words Siybrena de Jong, Energy Security Specialist in the Center for Strategic Studies in The Hague.

In November, Ukraine announced its termination of purchases of gas from Russia. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk explained the refusal to import Russian gas too high a price on it.

Last month, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, speaking about the achievements of Kiev, mentioned “hard to achieve energy independence from Russia”.

Over the past 10 years, sales of “Gazprom” Ukraine has fallen by 90 percent, but last year the company’s revenue from deliveries to this country amounted to 1.7 billion dollars, said the agency.
