Meetings of OPEC with Russia to discuss the situation in the oil market is not assigned – RIA Novosti

WASHINGTON, February 23 – RIA Novosti. The new OPEC meetings with the Russian Federation to discuss the normalization of the situation in the oil market is not assigned, said the secretary general of the cartel Abdalla Salem el-Badri

“No, not assigned”. – said el-Badri on the sidelines of the conference CERAWeek in response to a question about the new meetings with the Russian Federation. Earlier in a press briefing, he said that the next steps for the normalization of the oil market will be made after the implementation of the freezing of production arrangements through 3- 4 months. Also, al-Badri said that in talks with all member states of the oil industry, with the exception of the United States. But he encourages them to this dialogue.

Last week, after a meeting in Doha between the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and representatives of Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Qatar, an agreement was reached about the readiness to maintain oil production average in 2016 at the level of January this year, when other manufacturers join this initiative. Support for the idea expressed by Iran. But on Thursday, Saudi Arabia again disown these agreements. Foreign Minister of the Kingdom Adil al-Dzhubeyr said that his country is not ready to cut oil production. But if others are doing it, the market may be stabilizing.
