Media: “Gazprom” has begun to restrict the supply of gas to Turkish importers – Rosbalt.RU

The state company “Gazprom” has begun to limit the supply of the Turkish private importers, who have almost no substitute for Russian gas, says “Kommersant».

According to the publication, this is due to the price of conflict with Turkish partners for granted “Gazprom” discounts. Private importers almost impossible to find a replacement for the Turkish gas to Turkey, and in “Gazprom” believe that so they will be able to strengthen its position.

It is noted that supply by Trans-Balkan pipeline, through which Russian gas enters in western Turkey, with the beginning of February dropped by 23% compared to last year.

Sources of the newspaper, close to “Gazprom”, confirmed that deliveries are reduced because of a dispute over the price of gas. In 2015, “Gazprom” has given the private importers Turkey discount of 10.25%, but now wants to cancel it due to a substantial drop in gas prices.

According to sources among private Turkish importers, they paid all the bills and have not received from “Gazprom” no explanation and the official claims. “It gets in our business, we do not know how to explain the situation to customers”, – said one of the sources

.
Russian gas imports six private companies: Enerco Enerji, Bosphorus gaz, Avrasya gaz, Shell, Bati Hatti and Kibar Enerj, their total gas consumption is 10 billion cubic meters. The companies argue that signed contracts with customers on the basis of the price of gas, taking into account discounts.

In “Gazprom” said the publication that talks with the Turkish private importers “continue in a constructive manner,” the company “is interested in maintaining stable contractual relations with Turkish partners.” Significant reduction of deliveries via the pipeline in the company explain the warm weather.
