Moscow. January 8th. INTERFAX.RU – President Xi Jinping pledged to invest in Latin America $ 250 billion up to 2020 and reported on the possibility of doubling the volume of trade with the region over the next decade in order to bring them up to more than $ 500 billion.

The statement made Chinese leader at the summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean countries, which first met in Beijing.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said his country will receive $ 20 billion in new Chinese investments, but declined to specify in what kind of industry they are sent, reports Bloomberg. According to Maduro, China has demonstrated the possibility for the country to become stronger, no claim to world domination.

China is the largest creditor of Venezuela, located in a very difficult situation due to a sharp decline in oil prices.
