Earlier, Russian sports minister Vitaly Mutko reported that the Coordinating Council of the program of preparation for the World Cup 2018 football in Russia is considering several options to optimize the cost of construction of stadiums for the tournament, which will avoid a sharp increase in the cost of their construction.

Russia won the right to host the World Cup in December 2010. The first ever World Cup in Russia will be held from 14 June to 15 July 2018. World Cup matches will be played in Moscow, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Yekaterinburg.
