Igor Shuvalov: we did not expect such interest in Russia in Davos – Lighthouse

Sanctions to put pressure on Russia is pointless. This was at the World Economic Forum in Davos, said First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov. He stressed that the methods of the European Union and the United States lead to the opposite result – Putin’s approval ratings rose, and the Russians united around their leader. And as for the Forum in Davos, the participants take an active interest in the activities of the Russian delegation.

Shuvalov: You know, we’ve discussed the trip to Davos and several members of the government were to work in different sessions, we thought that the interest is just a very sluggish. But we note that – that this year the interest of the participants of the Davos forum simply huge: Want to know what our agenda at the moment, how are we going to cope with lower oil prices, whether we carry out structural reforms, like myself feels Russian society in terms of sanctions and many of the most interesting questions. This is a real concern, it genuine, and we feel that to us the most genuine interest.

In an interview with the program “Vesti on Saturday” Shuvalov said that some banks are waiting for rehabilitation. However, for this purpose has been increased insurance coverage up to the amount of nearly 1.5 million, including deposits from the public rehabilitation of banks will not be affected, said Deputy Prime Minister.
