Ministry of Energy of Turkey has sent two proposals for “Turkish Stream” – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, August 7 – RIA Novosti / Prime. Ministry of Energy of Turkey has sent two versions of an intergovernmental agreement on “Turkish Stream” – for the construction of either the first or all four threads, told RIA Novosti agency.

“They sent two proposals to the Turkish intergovernmental agreement on” Turkish Stream. “One – for the construction of the first line, the second – for the construction of all four strings”, – said the representative of the Ministry of Energy. He did not say when the documents were sent.

A source in the Ministry of Energy reported in late July that Russia has sent a draft intergovernmental agreement Turkey only on the first stretch “Turkish flow” capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters. In the second to fourth Threads planned to conclude the documents in a separate order.

The representative of “Gazprom” declined to comment on reports that the company has allegedly decided to change the configuration of “Turkish Stream” pipeline and will consist only of one or two lines.

The “Turkish stream” involves the construction of a gas pipeline with capacity of 63 billion cubic meters of gas a year from Russia to Turkey via the Black Sea. It is expected that the pipeline will consist of four threads, and bring on the Turkish-Greek border to 47 billion cubic meters of gas. On the border between Turkey and Greece plan to create a gas hub, and the EU should build their own transport capacity for further acceptance of this gas in its territory.

The construction of “the Turkish stream,” scheduled to begin in June, but the project is still under discussion. Experts do not rule out that the need to speed up the project intervention at the highest level. The meeting of presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled for the fall.
