According to MOE, about surviving passengers reported managed to get in touch commander of the crashed helicopter. According to him, the aircraft crashed in the sea area in the bay Ongachan the Sea of Okhotsk near Shantar Islands.
The helicopter made flight from the village named after P. Osipenko district of the Khabarovsk Territory in the lake Ongachan. He fell to 3.5 km from the planned landing. Escaped passengers were able to get yourself to the beach.
