MOSCOW, August 7. Russian Football Union (RFU) has officially announced the appointment of Leonid Slutsky, the chief coach of the national team of Russia.

“The contract with Russian specialists signed before the end of the qualifying round of the European Championship 2016 and at this stage is designed to combine the head coach of the Russian national team and CSKA Moscow”, – stated on the website of the RFU.

“Given the successful and efficient operation of Leonid Slutsky, CSKA, I believe that he is the specialist who will perform the task forces to enter the European Championship in 2016. This is a balanced decision agreed to by all parties concerned and, in my opinion, now looks the best, “- commented on the appointment Slutsky sports minister Vitaly Mutko.
