The IMF will give Ukraine a loan of $ 17.5 billion – BBC

The IMF is ready to give Ukraine a loan of $ 17.5 billion, according to Reuters with reference to the head of the IMF, Christine Lagarde.

According to Lagarde, she was very pleased by the fact that negotiations to provide bailout Ukraine ended. The lending program expanded to $ 17.5 billion, the loan is allocated for four years.

The agreement at the moment is a preliminary program is subject to approval of the Board of the IMF. Thus the total amount of IMF assistance program will reach $ 40 billion.

Previous reported that the National Bank of Ukraine will hold a joint press conference with representatives of the International Monetary Fund and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine on February 12 .
