"Russian Sea" was renamed "Russian aquaculture" – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, February 18 – RIA Novosti / Prime. Group of companies “Russian Sea”, one of the largest fishing companies in Russia, February 18 changed its name to “Russian aquaculture”, and will focus on the development of appropriate direction, the company said.

“To date, completed the legal procedures associated with the renaming of the company. The overall process of rebranding will be completed in the first half of 2015,” – the report says.

Renaming the company associated primarily with the strategy aimed at organic growth in the aquaculture sector, and in the long term – the creation of the first vertically integrated company in the aquaculture sector in Russia. In this case, a distribution line will continue to be a key business for the manufacturer.

Also, “Russian aquaculture” defined strategic development priorities for 2019-2020 years. Thus, the company intends to increase production more than quadrupled, to produce at least 21 thousand tons of chilled fish products for the Russian market.

It will be built nine fish farms in the Murmansk region, as well as plant-growing Atlantic salmon fry (capacity of 12 million pieces of smolts per year) and fodder plant (capacity – 80 thousand tons per year). Additional investment in the project “Aquaculture” can make more than 13 billion rubles.

GC “Russian Sea” was founded in 1997, is one of the leading suppliers in the Russian market of fish and seafood, specializing in the distribution of chilled and frozen fish as well as the commercial breeding of fish. The portfolio of the group for the development of aquaculture areas has 29 sites on the lakes in Karelia and in the Barents and White Seas for commercial breeding of salmon and trout. The total amount of the potential cultivation is about 70 thousand tons or 50% of the total consumption of salmon and trout in Russia.
