Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to study and consider raising the retirement age. This was announced by the former head of the Ministry of Finance, Head of the Committee of Civil Initiatives Alexei Kudrin said after a meeting with the head of state with economic experts to implement the anti-crisis plan, RIA Novosti reported.

According to Kudrin, the participants raised the issue of raising the retirement age, as well as the parameters increase. “I must say that the president has drawn a line under this final meeting and brought the discussion of the issues raised, first of all, experts on the level of working formats government”, – Kudrin said (quoted by Interfax).

The Minister did not rule out that one option could be an increase in the retirement age by five years. “There is a good option – an increase for six months a year. How often offer experts in the first year of retirement age increases by six months, then another six months, and so for ten years to increase it for five years, “- said Ulyukayev then.

On raising the retirement age said First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov in the program “Sunday Night” on TV channel “Russia 1″ February 1, 2015 in the context of the need for structural reforms in the economy. “When life expectancy increases, the economic response to such a change – increasing the retirement age,” – he pointed out.
