MOSCOW, February 17. OPEC oil basket price on Monday, February 16 rose $ 0.46, or 0.82%, to $ 56.43 a barrel, while in the previous trading day (Friday, February 13), it was $ 55.97 per barrel, to the materials on the website of the cartel.
The term “basket” of OPEC (OPEC Reference Basket of crudes) was officially launched January 1, 1987. Oil basket – a conditional mixture composed of oil brands that supply the world market of 12 countries of the cartel. Historical maximum for the cartel basket price is around $ 140.73 per barrel, recorded July 3, 2008.
OPEC oil basket is one of the key indicators of the world market price of oil.
On the morning of Tuesday marks the reference oil rose in price, while Brent crude quotes are at the highest level in nearly two months.
April futures for Brent crude on London’s ICE Futures Exchange to 8:49 MSK rose in price by 1.17% to $ 62.12 per barrel. Quotations of March futures on the mark WTI in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange on Tuesday morning rose by 0.81% to $ 53.21 per barrel, the “Interfax”.
