FSB has detained suspected of preparing a terrorist attack in Volgograd – BBC Russian

Russian Federal Security Service has detained in the Volgograd region five people on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack.

The press service of the FSB news agencies reported that at least one of the detainees was a member of the so called “Pallasovsky Jamaat”, which deals with the recruitment of volunteers for the extremist group Islamic State “.

during the search of the detainees were seized ammunition, explosives, as well as components for the creation of an improvised explosive device, including submunitions. also, they found extremist literature.

the group “Islamic State” is recognized in the Russian terrorist and banned. It has claimed responsibility for several high-profile attacks. the group is based in Syria, but has been recruiting volunteers in many countries, including in Russia.

As a result of the explosions at the train station and the bus killed a total of 34 people. A few dozen people were injured. During the investigation it was established that organized bombings of militants in Dagestan.
