Moody’s confirmed the “garbage” rating of Russia – Rosbalt.RU

The rating agency Moody’s has carried Russia to the level of Ba1 with a “negative” outlook. According to experts, they did not revise it downward as the economy of the Russian Federation has shown resilience in the face of falling oil prices in the beginning of the year, and the country’s authorities have adjusted the budget.

Among positive factors were also called reduction of the annual inflation rate to 7.3% in March, compared with 12.9% at the end of 2015.

According to the forecast Moody’s, the end of the year inflation will be approximately at the same level as the end of 2017 the rise in prices may be reduced to 5% on an annualized basis.

However, the forecast is saved as “negative”, because experts considered the slow introduction of measures in response to the slow pace of economic development. The upgrade would be possible in the event of a clear economic program for the medium term, providing, in particular, the shift away from dependence on oil and gas sector.
