Freight train sent from Ukraine, bypassing Russia to deliver the goods on the new direction of the “Silk Road”, back empty. On it informs “Interfax-Ukraine” with reference to the national railway operator “Ukrzaliznytsya».
The railway company noted that on 7 April the train with empty containers was sent to the station Dostyk in Kazakhstan.
In “Ukrzaliznytsya” also stressed that the regularity of traffic depends on the demand for such a service.
Earlier, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omeljan said that the first experimental launch of a freight train on the so-called “new Silk Road” was successful from a political point of view, but not quite right was organized on the technical side.
Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine together with “Ukrzaliznytsya” January 15, 2016 launched a trial run of a container train on the “new Silk Road”. Container train proceeded along the route Ukraine – Georgia – Azerbaijan – Kazakhstan – China (via the Caspian Sea and Black Sea) and reached China on the 16th day of the journey
