The Eurasian Development Bank has filed lawsuits against two subsidiaries of OAO “Mechel” ?? JSC “Mechel Mining” and JSC “JAkutugol.” As follows from the filing of arbitration cases, both “daughters” of “Mechel” EDB expects to recover about 2 billion rubles.
As of April 20, the total amount of debt “Mechel” was $ 7 billion. About two-thirds of them in “Gazprombank”, “Savings Bank” and “VTB”, who insist on the conversion of debt into shares of the company and change of management.
According to the newspaper “Vedomosti”, the main shareholder of “Mechel” in the next round of talks with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev promised to negotiate with creditors on debt restructuring until 16 June. Otherwise, the company is facing bankruptcy.
Earlier, representatives of the Russian government have repeatedly reported that progress in the negotiations “Mechel” and lenders have, and solution will be found to the beginning of the summer.
