KIEV, August 3. Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Groisman invited observers from the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to monitor the local elections in Ukraine. This was reported in the press service of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO.

As the UNN, the President sent an official invitation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Michael Turner.

At the end of July, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin invited Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to observe the local elections in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian authorities plan to hold local elections on 25 October. At the same time, the authorities of self-proclaimed republics of Donbass designated their date of local elections. The DNI must take place on 18 October, and in the LC – 1 November.

In July, the Verkhovna Rada adopted on second reading and in general, the law on local elections, which excludes the participation of the political blocs, and also provides that elections will not take place on a part of the Donbass and the Crimea, who joined in 2014 to Russia.
